Sometime in September I took Lila to the Adventure Playground for the first time. It’s a free, community-run park that encourages kids to explore and get dirty. It’s so awesome because it pretty much gives us a backyard, including all of the toys, without any of the cost or cleanup. I’m pretty sure that’s why it exists — because no one can have a decent backyard in Westpark! It’s too expensive.

Anyway, she loved it. She crawled right into the water and mud and I loved watching her have a childhood. I didn’t bring a swimsuit or a change of clothes, so you can imagine how full her diaper was after that. I took her home for a bath, and she left me a surprise! As if the mess wasn’t big enough already!
